So let’s get right into the numerous methods use by millions of people to cure, clean, rinse, heal, tenderize, purify, deodorize and yes, even extinguish kitchen fires.

Before starting, I just want to make things clear, Arm & Hammer baking soda is used for all kinds of purposes, including food recipes and is safe to be digested or used for skin irritation.

First method renown worldwide is its ability to act as a natural heartburn home remedy.

Home made baking soda remedy when upset stomach or heartburn occurs

Mix 1/2 tablespoon of Arm & harmer baking soda in a mid size glass of water.
Don’t give up if it doesn’t work the first time.
The dosage might vary from one person to another.
You won’t brake any law if you use a full table spoon.
You just need to experiment until you find the right mixture that works for you.
You can also add flavor to your mix, but stay away from citrus drinks like orange,
lemon, pineapple, tomato juice they all have a tendency to stimulate heartburns.
The best products are vegetables.
Adding carrot juice, cucumber juice or celery juice is ideal and makes it much more pleasant to drink.
Word of caution – Baking soda for heartburn is not recommended if you have high blood pressure, it’s just too much sodium to take at once.

Second method – Eliminate bad foot order.

It really works ! If you’re the type that needs to keep your shoes on when visiting your friends or leaving them out on the balcony avoiding unpleasent odours, then just
apply one teaspoon of Arm & harmer baking soda directly into each shoe in the morning before going to work, shake each shoe in order to spread the powder uniformly. Just try it for a couple of days, you will be amazed how baking soda effectively prevents infections and eliminates stinky foot odor.

Third benefit – An inexpensive way to whiten yellow teeth.

Pour a small amount of baking soda into a teaspoon.
Then apply your favorite toothpaste on your tooth brush,
and dip it carefully into the baking soda, not too much, or you will end up sanding your teeth, just a slight quantity will do the job.
You can brush your teeth several times a day but only once with baking soda for a trial period of one week.
If you haven’t noticed any improvement, stop using it.
However, if your teeth got whiter, wait 3 days, and repeat the process until you are satisfied with the results.
Word of caution – Once you’re happy with the outcome, continue brushing your teeth
without Arm & harmer baking soda, and only use it periodically when needed.
Remember this is not a tooth paste, it’s simply a natural way of getting whiter teeth.

Fourth method is hair shampoo for cleaning your scalp.

Baking soda actually dissolves soap and chemical deposit used by popular brand name
shampoo, clears off dandruff, and even prevents hair lost! Well, this last one I’m not so sure about.
Nevertheless, it has the propriety of neutralizing chemical residue left when using unnatural soap or shampoo products.
Immediately, after using shampoo, apply a small amount of baking soda in the palm of your hand, rub 10 seconds and rinse.
You can also mix the same amount in your shampoo or conditioner bottle, but it’s less effective.
As for preventing your hair from the pull of earth’s gravity or old age,
that remains to be seen. And should be considered more as a rumors than a proven fact.

Here’s a unique method of use baking soda as an underarm deodorant with a zest of lemon!

Fifth method – Extinguish a small fire with baking soda.

Since baking soda withholds fire of oxygen it will suffocate the flames and extinguish the fire.
It’s a great product to keep handy on the side if ever a small fire occurs unexpectedly.
Contrary to popular belief, water will not extinguish a fire set from grease or oil.
Although very practical under these conditions, it’s always better to keep a real fire extinguisher in the kitchen.
